Grupo Kristich submitted a request to the Provincial Institute of Games and Casinos (IPJyC) of Mendoza for a 150-day extension for the opening of the Hotel Fuente Mayor, which, according to the tender, should accompany the Casino de San Martín since 2023.

In the request, presented on March 14 by the awardees Fuente Mayor and New Star Internacional, they indicate that the five-month extension will serve to overcome “external circumstances” and that the opening of the hotel can be “successfully completed, thus guaranteeing the quality of service committed and expected by both future guests and the Institute and the community.”

Likewise, the group requests that the IPJyC be removed from this issue, since “the relationship with the Institute is limited exclusively to the operation of the gaming room”. “The remaining stages offered, including the Hotel, constitute accessory works that, once completed, are outside the scope of competence of the IPJyC,” they stated.

The local media MDZ contacted the Mendoza Provincial Government and the IPJyC, who reported that the request has not yet been answered.

“The company has submitted an extension request. This was referred to [Ministry of] Infrastructure, which is evaluating what was presented by the company. Based on the report issued by Infrastructure, the Institute of Games and Casinos will make a resolution,” mentioned the agency led by Ida López.

In February of this year, provincial senator Félix González filed a lawsuit against Mario Isgró, former Minister of Planning and Infrastructure of Mendoza, and all those involved in the delay in the construction of the Hotel Fuente Mayor.

At that time, González warned that the 18-month extension granted to the company owned by Grupo Kristich and in charge of the construction of a four-star establishment with 55 rooms, an exclusive spa, a first-class gym and a heated pool, among other services, was about to expire.
