Esportes Gaming Brasil, the company behind the Esportes da Sorte and Onabet brands, has announced the appointment of Hugo Baungartner as its new Business Director and Executive Director of Institutional Relations and Strategic Partnerships.

Baungartner has already begun focusing on high-priority regulatory and institutional matters. His responsibilities will include representing the group to key industry stakeholders such as the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets, the Federal Revenue Service, and the Central Bank of Brazil.

“My focus is on managing relationships with institutional stakeholders and regulators, leading compliance initiatives, and structuring strategic partnerships and projects – all with an emphasis on consolidating and expanding the group’s presence in the regulated Brazilian market,” Baungartner stated.

In January, Esportes da Sorte secured a license in the newly regulated Brazilian betting market. In March, H2 Gambling Capital ranked the brand among its top 10 operators in market share.

Baungartner, who previously served as Commercial Director at Brazilian operator Aposta Ganha, commenced his new role earlier this month.

During his time as CCO of Aposta Ganha, he played a key role in helping the company become one of the first to obtain a full license in Brazil, positioning the local operator alongside international giants in the market.

Baungartner brings nearly 30 years of experience in the gaming sector, with strategic expansion and institutional consolidation being key themes throughout his career at Aposta Ganha.

He believes this experience will be highly beneficial at Esportes Gaming Brasil, stating, “I bring a comprehensive understanding of the sector, practical experience in regulatory transition, and valuable technical knowledge in operations and relations with regulators.”
