The casino and hotel chain Marina del Sol reported that the Casino Marina del Sol in Chillán made tax contributions of CLP 1.84 billion, which, during 2024, were distributed between the Municipality of Chillán and the Regional Government of Ñuble. The amount is equivalent to USD 1.8 million.
The company detailed that the figure is part of the total CLP 35.5 billion (USD 35.2 million) that they paid in taxes nationwide throughout last year.
The amount includes CLP 920 million (USD 913,400) for the Municipality of Chillán, which will be used to finance development works and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants. The same is allocated to the Regional Government of Ñuble, “ensuring a significant flow of resources for projects and infrastructure in the region.”
In turn, the Chillán casino contributed CLP 2.5 billion (USD 2.5 million) to the Central Government for casino entrance taxes and VAT, “which demonstrates the institution’s commitment to the economic and social development of the region.”
The company emphasized that the contributions “reinforce the role of Casino MDS as an economic and social pillar for the commune of Chillán, standing out as an important source of income for municipal projects, social programs, and improvements in public services.”
