A man has the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi and chair manufacturer Modern Gaming Inc. dragged to court. According to the American husband, he was injured and upset by a broken chair at a slot machine in the casino, on which he was playing.

Last month George Powell from South Carolina submitted a lawsuit against the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, located in the state of Mississippi, and chair manufacturer Modern Gaming Inc. In the indictment it can be read that the American man was playing on a slot machine in the casino before things went wrong. The chair broke and made sure that the man fell to the ground, Sun Herald writes.

The event took place on August 6, 2022 when Powell was staying at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi. Because of the fall of the broken chair, the man got pain in several places of his body. He indicated to casino staff that he was in pain in the right shoulder, while one of the employees removed the broken chair from the casino.

Powell then went back to his hotel room, but because the pain got worse and the swelling increased, he decided to seek medical help. He was then treated in Merit Health in Biloxi, the nearby Medical Center. According to the indictment, however, there was not only physical damage, but also mental damage. For example, he would constantly suffer from worries and stress that continues to influence his life.

The man sues Hard Rock Casino for negligence because they have not caused safe circumstances for players. At the same time, the chair manufacturer would not have made the chair safe, nor has it tested for safety. Powell wants a compensation of an unused amount.
