“Throughout different round tables and presentations, the more than 120 participants had the opportunity to share experiences and present success stories from the perspectives of each of their countries,” they detailed.
During the event, the Peruvian Vice Minister of Tourism, Madeleine Burns, stated: “Mincetur is honored to receive representatives from gaming regulatory bodies from different jurisdictions in Latin America and the Caribbean, who are responsible for regulating and supervising the activity of games of chance in their respective countries.”
In that vein, the official highlighted that Peru was chosen as the venue for the event thanks to “the achievements regarding the formalization of the activity of casino games, slot machines, and recently sports betting and remote games, implementation of responsible gaming policies, and the sincerity of tax payments, which has meant an increase in tax collection, and above all the benefits of having a properly regulated sector.”
In turn, Yuri Guerra expressed gratitude for “the effort of the private sector for having trusted the State.” “A regulation is successful if it manages to get everyone into the formal market, so that competition is healthy and transparent. We cannot prohibit what we cannot control, we will protect the player and private investments from illegal operation,” he concluded.
