This week, Marcelo Schwarz took office as the new president of the Deliberative Council of Necochea and addressed the main issues that will dominate the political agenda during 2025. Among other things, he announced that the city’s casino “will be the most important topic of discussion for the Council this year.”
In statements to local media, the councilor assured that the establishment is essential for the development of the city, so the priority on the legislative agenda for 2025 will be the discussion about the future of the Casino Complex. “It embarrasses us to see the calamitous state it is in,” he stressed.
“In principle, we have to resume an intense agenda that has to do with very important issues for the potential development of our district,” Schwarz began, and explained that one of the most relevant issues will be the sale and revaluation of the Casino property, whose slot machine tender was recently announced by the government of the province of Buenos Aires.
“It is no coincidence that this decision has come after the intelligent and mature dialogue that Mayor Arturo Rojas had with the governor. In this way, the conditions that we had been waiting for for some time began to take shape.” In turn, he was optimistic that this advance will allow debating “a new legislative tool” to give way to a superior project for the property where the Casino Complex is located.
In this line, Schwarz reported that the local Executive is working on a new specification to present to the Deliberative Council, with the intention of attracting investments aimed at the tourist and recreational development of the place.
In addition, he remarked that “the development of the casino will be the starting point for thinking about the growth of the coastal front.”
