Wanda Nara Faces Legal Trouble for Promoting Unlicensed Betting Platform
Model and businesswoman Wanda Nara has been posting stories on her Instagram account promoting “Hititbet,” an online betting platform that lacks authorization to operate in Argentina and was ordered to be blocked by the Argentine Justice system in December 2024.
This Monday (6th), the Argentine TV host shared a video and three promotional images of the website, which has been changing its domain to continue operating.
“It’s an illegal site that constantly changes its domain, but influencers know they shouldn’t promote it. It’s linked to child gambling because it allows minors to bet. Wanda would be paid a percentage for each bet,” judicial sources confirmed to Infobae.
It was also stated that, since Nara has already been charged in this case, she cannot claim ignorance about the illegality of promoting it.
The Hititbet platform offers the possibility to bet on European soccer matches, as well as on slot machines and digital bingo, and continues to feature the model as its image.
Consequently, a case has been initiated by the Specialized Criminal Prosecutor’s Office for Gambling (FEJA), led by prosecutor Juan Rozas.
This new charge against the Argentine model is related to the accusations made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the City of Buenos Aires against her and other influencers accused of promoting illegal online gambling, in an investigation led by prosecutors Alejandro Musso and Juan Rozas, from the UFEIC of San Isidro and the FEJA of Buenos Aires.
In mid-October 2024, 16 Argentine influencers began giving their statements after being charged with promoting unregulated gambling sites that allow minors to enter, as a result of a judicial investigation that included several raids and arrests.
