Police Dismantle Illegal Casino in Mendoza Province

Mendoza Police, through the General Directorate of Investigations, conducted a raid in the department of Las Heras, successfully dismantling a clandestine casino. The operation resulted in the arrest of over 20 individuals and the seizure of a significant amount of money, along with items related to the illegal activity.

The illegal gambling den was located in a private residence opposite the Club Andino. Authorities confiscated gambling paraphernalia such as dice, cards, and chips. All individuals present at the scene were taken into custody and placed at the disposal of the judicial system.

Details of the Raid

The procedure, ordered by the Justice Department as part of a case involving violation of Article 301 bis of the Argentine Penal Code, led to the apprehension of more than 20 people, including 22 gamblers who were actively wagering cash at the time of the police intervention.

Furthermore, authorities seized over ARS 14 million (USD 12,000), in addition to US dollars and Chilean pesos.

The confiscated items included:

  • Over 150 chips of various colors and shapes, some with printed values
  • 68 dice
  • More than 450 playing cards
  • Other items related to gambling activities

The operation was carried out by personnel from the General Directorate of Investigations, following several weeks of surveillance and evidence gathering that confirmed the existence of illegal gambling at the location.
