Bjorn Verbakel Chasing Second Bracelet at 2025 WSOP

Bjorn Verbakel will be vying for his second career bracelet at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) tonight. Verbakel is among the final thirteen players in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot event, who will compete for a top prize of $290,400 on Sunday’s final day. Simultaneously, five other Dutch players, including Marcel Vonk, have advanced to Day 2 of the $500 COLOSSUS.

For the first time in WSOP history, the schedule includes a Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot event. This tournament features no blinds; instead, all players pay an ante before each hand. Additionally, the board is dealt twice instead of once.

The inaugural edition of this event, with a buy-in of $1,500, attracted 1,452 players. Fellow Dutchman Jacco Hester also participated, with both making it to Day 2. Hester ultimately finished in 132nd place for $3,178. Verbakel, however, managed to avoid elimination on the second day.

He advanced to the final thirteen players, who will compete on Sunday evening for the bracelet. The Dutchman is aiming for his second WSOP bracelet, having previously won at the WSOPE in 2021. This could make him the second Dutch player with two bracelets, after Jans Arends.

Verbakel has work to do, as he starts the final day ninth in chips:
