Poker World Focuses on Barcelona with CEP and EPT Events
Casino Barcelona is set to become the global epicenter of poker once again, hosting the Spanish Poker Championship (CEP) from August 14th to 26th, followed by the European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona, one of Europe’s largest and the world’s second-largest poker tournament, from August 26th to September 8th.
Poker enthusiasts can look forward to 26 days of competition, with tournaments catering to all skill levels, offering the chance to play alongside some of the world’s leading poker stars.
The CEP, Spain’s longest-running poker circuit, returns to Casino Barcelona for its third championship stage, the second held at this venue this year. The CEP Barcelona program includes 11 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from EUR 180 (USD 196) to EUR 1,100 (USD 1,202).
The Main Event will take place from August 20th to 26th, featuring a buy-in of EUR 500 (USD 546) (EUR 428 + EUR 22 + EUR 50), five starting flights (Day 1A, Day 1B, Day 1C, Day 1D, and Day 1E Turbo), and a starting stack of 30,000 chips. The event aims to surpass the 1,960 entries achieved in August 2023, which made the Barcelona stage the most attended in the history of the Spanish poker circuit.

EPT Celebrates its 20th Anniversary
Following the CEP, Casino Barcelona will host a special edition of the European Poker Tour, celebrating its 20th anniversary at its birthplace: Casino Barcelona.
The Barcelona stop, the only one to have been present in every edition of the EPT circuit, was crowned in August 2022 as the largest stage in the circuit’s history, with 27,450 entries from over 100 nationalities, solidifying its position as the largest tournament in Europe and the second largest in the world.
Last year, the EPT Main Event broke its participation record, reaching 7,398 entries and becoming the largest live tournament in PokerStars history.
