Arends wasn’t the only one to find success on Sunday at the GG World Festival (GGWF) 2025. Pieter Aerts, now playing from Austria, had a remarkable run in the 195-S: $5,250 Bounty Hunters Sunday Main Event. He reached the final table alongside Duco ten Haven, among others.
Ten Haven ultimately finished in seventh place for $22,602, while Aerts advanced to the decisive heads-up match. In the final showdown, he faced Vladimir Minko, who has been consistently winning throughout this festival.
Minko continued his winning streak, defeating the player who had to settle for second place and $41,034. By eliminating numerous players, Minko collected a staggering $131,503, more than three times the amount of the runner-up.
Werner Lootsma also came close to a victory in the 194-H: $525 Grand Prix Europe. He ultimately finished in third place for $37,022.
