The Casino Central in Mar del Plata is celebrating its 85th anniversary and preparing to officially open the gaming season with shows, activities, and performances.
Oscar Marino, head of Marketing and Events at the Casino Central, announced that the celebration will take place on Saturday, January 11th, featuring guest artists, live bands, and shows. The event will start at 5:00 PM and continue until 1:30 AM (local time), with free admission. As part of the celebration, two halls are being renovated, one with a capacity for 300 people and the Sala Bristol, which can accommodate 750 people. “These are the largest halls with ocean views, and we will host cultural events there, having already reached an agreement with the Auditorium,” Marino stated.
85 Years of History
The Casino Central de Mar del Plata first opened its doors on December 22, 1939. Throughout its history, it has been a cornerstone of Argentina’s casino community, as highlighted by the establishment on its social media channels. The casino is also renowned for its iconic architecture, which has been declared a National Historical Landmark.
Regarding the 2025 summer season, Marino noted that it has been “incipient” so far due to unfavorable weather conditions. However, a significant rebound is expected in January, with “significant activity in some rooms” already observed.
