Boivin Leads Final Day of $250,000 Super High Roller

Thomas Boivin will start as the chip leader on the final day of the $250,000 Super High Roller at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP). In the series’ most expensive tournament, he faces stiff competition from players like Alex Foxen, Seth Davies, and Bryn Kenney.

The $250,000 Super High Roller, the priciest event of the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP), began two days ago. Registration closed after the first two levels of Day 2, resulting in a total field of 63 players. This meant ten places would be paid, with a minimum cash of $516,393 and a top prize of over $4.7 million.

After registration closed, several top players in the world of poker were eliminated, including Stephen Chidwick, Sean Winter, Jason Koon, and Leon Sturm. Ben Heath, Adrian Mateos, Jesse Lonis, and Phil Ivey also failed to reach the money. Following the eliminations of Joao Vieira, Jeremy Ausmus, Christoph Vogelsang, Alex Theologis, and Orpen Kisacikoglu, the tournament reached the bubble.

Boivin Chip Leader

Just before that, Thomas Boivin from Belgium took over the chip lead by winning a huge pot with ace-king against Andrew Lichtenberger’s ace-four. On the bubble, David Peters risked his entire stack with a risky bluff against Martin Kabrhel, who was creating a lot of action at the table with Daniel Negreanu.

Peters shoved all-in after a bet from the Czech player on 8♠ J♠ 8♦ 3♠ 9♣ with just A♠ J♣. He managed to get Kabrhel to fold the best hand, T♥ 8♥. Shortly after, Boivin burst the bubble by winning with pocket kings against Lichtenberger’s ace-ten.

After reaching the money, Biao Ding finished in tenth place for $516,393, while Negreanu finished ninth for $531,284. The remaining eight players will return on Tuesday for the final showdown:
